The Lotus Excel sports car was built from 1982 to 1992 by Lotus Cars Limited. Initially making self-assembly kit cars for race drivers, Lotus soon started producing lightweight, high performance sports and race cars.
To mark 25 years of production at their Hethel factory, Lotus added 40 “Hethel 25th Anniversary Celebration edition” models to the Lotus Excel range. This is number 23, finished in Celebration Marque Green Metallic.
This car has enjoyed a recent full respray and retrim. It has a full tan leather interior with perforated leather panels, and Alcantara headlining. The carpets are 100 percent Wilton wool. The Excel has a new Blaupunkt stereo, with a classic look but all modern features, including DAB and Bluetooth. There is a high-end amp and quality speakers. The air conditioning was fully overhauled in November 2022 and blows nice and cold. The car has a sports exhaust system from Lotus Bits and has just returned from having £7,000 of expert mechanical maintenance. It has great road presence and is a real talking point wherever you park!
